ENERGY STORAGE EUROPE CONFERENCE

Energy Storage Europe (formerly EASE), based in Brussels, is a leading member-supported association representing over 70 organisations across the entire energy storage value chain. Founded in 2011, it brings together utilities, technology providers, optimisers, research institutes, and system operators. The association promotes the deployment of energy storage to enable a secure, competitive, and climate-neutral energy system.

ENERGY STORAGE EUROPE CONFERENCE

Extreme price spikes and negative prices are becoming a structural feature of Europe’s electricity markets. Energy storage is recognised by the EU as a grid-friendly asset, as it can mitigate price volatility and improve system efficiency through arbitrage, peak-shaving, and real-time balancing. However, significant regulatory barriers remain, particularly in grid connection procedures and in the full regulatory recognition of storage’s flexibility capabilities.

EXPERTS’ STAGE HALL E

Workshop: "Renewable Energy, Non-Renewable Mistakes – Cyber Hygiene in Practice"

This workshop will show participants how to significantly improve their online security in a simple way—both at work and in their personal lives. We will focus on practical skills: participants will learn how to create strong passwords, manage them without sticky notes or Excel, and use multi-factor authentication as an additional layer of protection. We will demonstrate how to recognize phishing attempts in emails, SMS messages, and messaging apps, as well as which warning signs should immediately trigger a “red flag.” Real-life examples of social engineering attacks will be discussed, highlighting the mistakes that led to these incidents.Attention will also be given to everyday devices—smartphones and laptops—as these are often the primary targets of attacks. Participants will learn how to safely use public Wi-Fi networks, for example while traveling or attending trade shows, and which antivirus settings actually matter. We will provide practical guidance on when and why to use a VPN, how to safely use messaging apps, and how to protect work-related data. The workshop is designed so that every participant leaves with a concrete list of actionable steps they can implement immediately—without technical jargon or complicated tools.
